Courses for dental professionals

The British Dental Acupuncture Society offers courses for dentists and dental care professionals who are registered with the General Dental Council (UK) to learn the use of acupuncture in relation to dentistry, to enhance their skills for patient management.

The Introductory course is usually held in London, over two days, normally a weekend, and provides both theoretical, and practical instruction in the use of acupuncture. Using lecture and small group teaching with practical components. Covering both traditional and western views of acupuncture, the use and scientific rationale of acupuncture will be discussed. There will be a strong emphasis on diagnosis and management of conditions suitable for treatment in general dental practice.

By the end of the course you should have gained new skills, and be able to use acupuncture safely in the dental context. The course provides 12 hours of verifiable continuing professional development compliant with GDC requirements C & D.

The course will be taught by a dentist experienced in the use of acupuncture, and limited to 15 participants to ensure personal practical tuition. Not a day for needle phobics as you will be expected to practice on each other!
